Biomass (Wood-Pellet / Wood-Chip) Boilers

Biomass Boilers are a logical replacement for existing gas, oil or LPG fed boilers. They offer the efficiency, control and technology of the most modern conventional energy-saving boilers, and are fuelled by pre-formed wood pellets or by wood-chips.

The pellets or wood-chips can be manually fed into the unit or fed automatically by a hopper. Hoppers allow for a number of week's supply of fuel to be pre-loaded for convenience.

Environmentally, wood pellets / chips are Co2 neutral, because the action of burning them is offset by the Co2 absorbed by the original tree during its lifespan.

The cost of pellets is comparable to the price per kW of mains-fed gas, making them substantially cheaper than Oil or LPG fuels.

If you have an on-site supply of wood, a chipper will allow you to provide wood-chip fuel at zero cost.

In both instances the cost savings on fuel will quickly offset the purchase and installation costs of the boiler itself.

We supply Biomass Boilers of all sizes to cater for the smallest cottage to the largest of factories or commercial buildings. They can be of a conventional design for installation out of sight, or can be supplied with viewing windows for use in a room, like a wood-burner.

HIGH EFFICIENCY CONDENSING BOILERS

An old boiler can be incredibly inefficient. Efficiency can drop to as low as 40%, meaning that for every £100 spent on fuel, £60 is wasted!

Modern condensing boilers are very efficient, and cleverly use some of the heat usually discarded through the flue to generate more heat for the property. Condensing boilers are at least 90% efficient, and will quickly recoup their installation costs through savings on annual fuel bills. Only Heat Pumps offer greater efficiency levels.

We can install both conventional and combination (combi) condensing boilers, to domestic and commercial properties. We can install them with new high-efficiency hot water cylinders and future-proof them to be compatible with Solar thermal heating.
