Sheffield Wind Turbine

We met our client while exhibiting at the RHS Tatton show. The client owns a farm, and was keen to invest in Renewables to tap into the new Feed-In-Tariff. As well as having environmental motivation, he was keen to generate an annual income from his system that would surpass returns he was currently realising from savings.

We visited and surveyed site. PV and Wind-turbine installations were viable, but it was agreed that wind would be the technology of choice due to the good wind-speeds available on the elevated and open site.

We submitted planning to the local authority, which was approved some 8-weeks later. The client excavated for the foundations and did his own trench-run for the electric cable-run. We then arranged for foundation concrete to be poured and we embedded the 'root' base-section. Some 5-weeks later the turbine was erected, and will now provide a valuable long-term source of both free electricity and annual Government-paid income.
