5kW Wind Turbine - Lancaster

Our client owns an egg farm, and was keen to invest in Renewables to help offset very large electricity bills. In addition, income earned from the new Feed-In-Tariff made the decision to invest, an easy one.

We assessed the viability of the site, which was both elevated and open with a good annual wind-speed. The turbine position on the site was chosen as it took full advantage of the wind resource whilst being partially hidden from the passing road.

We completed and filed for planning, which was passed some 10-weeks later without a hitch.

The client excavated for the foundations and dug the cable trench. We then completed the 'root' foundation work and installed the turbine some 4-weeks later.
